Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18922

Hi all, last week Microsoft released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18922 (20H1) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.

Smooth & fast upgrades for my devices, everything running fine, auto correct suggestions while typing have an issue with DPI, seems also notepad and simmilar apps turn up with scaling issues

What’s new in 18922

Language Settings Improvements

The Global Language Experience team has improvements in Language Settings to make it easier for you to see the current state of your language settings at a glance. The new overview section lets you quickly know which languages are selected as default for their Windows display, Apps & websites, Regional format, Keyboard, and Speech. If everything looks as expected you can quickly move on, you can click one of the tiles which will take you to where you need to be to change that selection.

We also found through usability studies and feedback that some users didn’t understand what the different language features empowered them to do or why they might be greyed out. In response to this, we’ve reorganized the language features installation page a bit and added tool tips with descriptions.

Feedback Hub updates

Based on your feedback, we’re updating the Feedback Hub with a new feature called Find Similar Feedback! When you go to log a new piece of feedback, you’ll now see a section that looks to see if there’s any existing feedback that sounds similar to yours. You can now choose to automatically link your feedback to that existing feedback (rather than creating a new piece of feedback). This is currently in the process of rolling out to Insiders with version 1.1904.1584.0 – we look forward to you trying it out!

We’ve also updated the Thank You page a little bit, so that now there’s a direct button to share your feedback if that’s what you wanna do (rather than having to go find your feedback afterwards in the My Feedback section).  

Thank you for all the feedback you’ve been sharing with us – we hope you like these updates! This is currently in the process of rolling out to Insiders as an app update in the Microsoft Store (version 1.1904.1584.0) – we look forward to you trying it out. 

General changes, improvements, and fixes for PC

  • We fixed an issue resulting in some Insiders getting Windows Update error 0x80010105 when updating to recent builds.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in some Insiders getting Windows Update error 0xc0000005 when updating to recent builds.
  • We fixed an issue where the Action Center background was unexpectedly opaque in the quick action section.
  • We fixed an issue where if you used the spacebar to switch to a different Focus assist state in Settings, keyboard focus would unexpectedly jump to the Have a Question? Section.
  • We fixed an issue with the Bopomofo IME where the character width would suddenly change to Full width from Half width.
  • We’ve added a tip to the Bopomofo IME settings that Ctrl + Space can be used for toggling conversation mode.
  • We fixed an issue where, when using the Japanese IME with Excel, if you’d turned off Japanese input-mode by clicking the input-mode indicator, the input-mode would revert back to “Hiragana” every time focus moved to another cell.
  • Based on feedback, we’ve updated the Chinese Pinyin IME settings to now refer to Default mode, rather than Input mode.
  • We fixed an issue for some of the Insiders with the updated File Explorer search experience, resulting in suggested results in the search dropdown not responding when clicked. Thanks for reporting this!
  • We’ve made a few small design tweaks to the updated Windows Ink Workspace, including changing the overflow menu button to new use an ellipsis icon. Note – this feature update is still in the process of rolling out.
  • We’re now starting to roll out the updated Settings header again after addressing an issue with the OneDrive entry – appreciate your patience!

Known Issues

  • This update might fail the first time you try to download it with a 0xc0000409 error code.
  • For Home editions, some devices might not be able to see the “download progress %” change on the Windows Update page.
  • There has been an issue with older versions of anti-cheat software used with games where after updating to the latest 19H1 Insider Preview builds may cause PCs to experience crashes. We are working with partners on getting their software updated with a fix, and most games have released patches to prevent PCs from experiencing this issue. To minimize the chance of running into this issue, please make sure you are running the latest version of your games before attempting to update the operating system. We are also working with anti-cheat and game developers to resolve similar issues that may arise with the 20H1 Insider Preview builds and will work to minimize the likelihood of these issues in the future.
  • Some Realtek SD card readers are not functioning properly. We are investigating the issue.
  • Tamper Protection may be turned off in Windows Security after updating to this build. You can turn it back on. In August, Tamper Protection will return to being on by default for all Insiders.
  • We’re investigating an issue where some users are reporting that File Explorer search is rendering in an unexpectedly small area and clicking it results in a crash.

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18917

Hi all, yesterday Microsoft released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18917 (20H1) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.

What’s new in 18917

New download throttling options for Delivery Optimization

We’ve heard from our users with very low connection speeds that setting download throttling as a percentage of available bandwidth isn’t providing enough relief in reducing the impact on their network. That’s why we’ve added a new option to throttle the bandwidth used by Delivery Optimization as an absolute value. You can set this separately for Foreground downloads (downloads that you initiate from Windows Store for example) or background downloads. This option already exists for IT Pros who use Group Policies or MDM policies to configure Delivery Optimization. In this build, we’ve made it easier to set via the settings page.

You can access this option via Settings > Update & Security > Delivery Optimization > Advanced Options

Set an absolute bandwidth value to better control Delivery Optimization in Settings.

Narrator improvements

Data Table Reading Improvements: We’ve optimized the information you hear with Narrator when navigating a table using table navigation commands. Narrator now reads the header data first, followed by the cell data, followed by the row/column position for that cell. Additionally, Narrator only reads the headers when the headers have changed, so you can focus on the content of the cell.

Windows Subsystem for Linux 2

WSL 2 is a new version of the architecture that powers the Windows Subsystem for Linux to run ELF64 Linux binaries on Windows. This new architecture, which uses a real Linux kernel, changes how these Linux binaries interact with Windows and your computer’s hardware, but still provides the same user experience as in WSL 1 (the current widely available version). WSL 2 delivers a much faster file system performance and full system call compatibility, which lets you run more applications like Docker!

Windows Ink Workspace Updates

As we mentioned last week, you may notice that Windows Ink Workspace has changed on your PC. That’s because we’re updating the Windows Ink Workspace experience and starting to roll it out to some Insiders.

The updated Windows Ink Workspace is smaller with a direct link to our Microsoft Whiteboard app, providing you with rich ideation and collaboration capabilities

As part of this, Windows Ink Workspace now takes up less screen real estate, and we’re converging our whiteboarding experiences with a new direct link to our Microsoft Whiteboard app. Microsoft Whiteboard is a freeform digital canvas where ideas, content, and people can come together. It includes an infinite canvas, optional backgrounds (including graph paper and solid dark grey) to choose from, rainbow ink support, multiple pages, and generally addresses much of the feedback you shared with us about Sketchpad. If you used Sketchpad, don’t worry – we saved the sketch you were working on in your Pictures folder.

We heard your feedback, and we’ve streamlined the Windows Ink Workspace for you. Stay tuned as we continue to evolve! Once the new experience arrives on your PC, please take a moment to try it out and share feedback via Feedback Hub under Desktop Environment > Windows Ink Workspace. If the Windows Ink Workspace icon isn’t visible in your taskbar, you can show it by right-clicking the taskbar and selecting “Show Windows Workspace Icon.”

General changes, improvements, and fixes for PC

  • We fixed an issue where some users experienced a 0x8007000E error code while downloading the build due to high RAM consumption.
  • We fixed an issue where users couldn’t use the desktop Features on Demand “add a feature” option.
  • We fixed an issue where dragging the emoji and dictation panels was unexpectedly laggy.
  • We’re in the process of rolling out a change in this build to address an issue where if the taskbar was set to autohide, launching the Start menu would first hide the taskbar before bringing up the Start menu.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in the Start menu and taskbar going 100% transparent on secondary monitors or after projection.
  • We’ve updated the new File Explorer search experience to now be dark when used in dark theme. Note – this experience is still in the process of rolling out. Thanks everyone who’s tried it so far and shared feedback, we’ll let you know when the rollout expands.
  • We fixed an issue where Windows Security would crash if launched from Settings when using an Arabic display language.
  • We fixed an issue where the audio service might hang on shutdown if spatial audio was turned on.
  • [UPDATE] We fixed an issue for Home editions where some devices might not have been seeing the “update installed” on the update history page.

Known Issues

Patch Your Systems Now!

Microsoft released a patch for XP/2003 to 7/2008R2 two weeks ago, patching a vulnerability in the RDP protocol, leaving this one unpatched has the potential of becoming an issue of Wannacry proportions.

What’s new in Build 18898

Disk type now visible in Task Manager Performance tab

A small, but perhaps convenient change — you’ll now be able to see the disk type (e.g. SSD) for each disk listed in Task Manager’s performance tab. This is particularly helpful in cases where you have multiple disks listed, so you can differentiate between them.

General changes, improvements, and fixes for PC

  • We fixed an issue resulting in a high hitting DWM crash in recent builds.
  • We fixed a pcshell.dll issue in recent builds resulting in a high hitting explorer.exe crash.
  • We fixed an issue where updated Japanese IME settings would be never applied in certain desktop bridge apps, which could result in prediction candidates being shown even after they’d been disabled in the IME settings. For those who’ve already been impacted by this, you’ll need to reset the app Settings > Apps > <select the app> > Advanced Options > Reset before you see the results of this fix.

Known Issues

  • There has been an issue with older versions of anti-cheat software used with games where after updating to the latest 19H1 Insider Preview builds may cause PCs to experience crashes. We are working with partners on getting their software updated with a fix, and most games have released patches to prevent PCs from experiencing this issue. To minimize the chance of running into this issue, please make sure you are running the latest version of your games before attempting to update the operating system. We are also working with anti-cheat and game developers to resolve similar issues that may arise with the 20H1 Insider Preview builds and will work to minimize the likelihood of these issues in the future.
  • Some Realtek SD card readers are not functioning properly. We are investigating the issue.
  • If you use remote desktop to connect to an enhanced session VM, taskbar search results will not be visible (just a dark area) until you restart searchui.exe.
  • We’re investigating reports that on certain devices, if fast startup is enabled, night light doesn’t turn on until after a restart. (Note: The problem will occur on a “cold” reboot or power off / power on. To work around if night light doesn’t turn on, use Start > Power > Restart.)
  • There’s a noticeable lag when dragging the emoji and dictation panels.
  • Tamper Protection may be turned off in Windows Security after updating to this build. You can turn it back on.
  • Some features on Start Menu and in All apps are not localized in languages such as FR-FR, RU-RU, and ZH-CN.
  • In the Ease of Access settings, selecting a color filter may not take effect right away unless color filters option is turned off and back on again.
  • The IME candidate window for East Asian IMEs (Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and the Japanese IME) may not open sometimes. We are investigating the issue. In the meantime, going to Task Manager and ending the “WindowsInternal.ComposableShell.Experiences.TextInput.InputApp.exe” task from the from the Details tab should unblock you if you experience this issue.
  • We are aware of an issue with the Bopomofo IME where the character width is suddenly changed to Full width from Half width and are investigating.

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18885

Hi All, last Friday Microsoft released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18885 (20H1) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.

So far running soomth, smooth upgrade process was able to crash Edge for the 1st time in a long time 🙂 apparently using the Microsoft support bot & pressing the left arrow key a few times is a no go in the current build.

Enjoy upgrading! Lots of new Android stuff, making me possibly rethink my phone strategy…

NOTE: Windows Insiders on Build 18362.53 who were unable to update to Build 18875will need to install Build 18362.86 (KB4497093) *FIRST* before being able to receive today’s build. Build 18362.86 includes the fix needed to update to the latest 20H1 builds from Build 18362.53. If you’re already on Build 18875, this build should come through normally.

Earlier this month, we moved the Fast ring forward to 20H1 and merged the small group of Insiders who opted-in to Skip Ahead back into the Fast ring, which means Insiders in the Fast ring and those who opted-in to Skip Ahead are receiving the same builds for now.

IMPORTANT: As is normal with builds early in the development cycle, these builds may contain bugs that might be painful for some. If you take this flight, you won’t be able to switch Slow or Release Preview rings without doing a clean-install on your PC. If you wish to remain on 19H1, please change your ring settings via Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program *before* taking this flight. See this blog post for details.

Your Phone app

Phone screen now supports additional Android devices

As promised, we have expanded phone screen support to additional phone models – OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T, Samsung Galaxy S10e, S10, S10+, Note 8, Note 9. Try out phone screen and send us your feedback. We will continue to expand the list of supported devices over time.

Never miss your Android phone’s notifications

Today, we are excited to provide a preview into the newest feature for the Your Phone app – Notifications.

Stop reaching for your phone to check your notifications. Boost your focus and productivity by seeing your phone’s notifications on your PC. You are in control and manage which apps you want to receive notifications from. Dismiss a notification on one device and it goes away on the other.

With this preview, you can:

  • See incoming phone notifications in real-time
  • View all of your phone notifications in one place
  • Customize which notifications you want to receive
  • Clear notifications individually or all at once

This feature will gradually roll out to Insiders on 19H1 builds. It may take a few days for this feature to show up inside the Your Phone app.

You can use the Your Phone app on any Windows 10 PC running Windows builds 1803 (RS4) or newer and most Android phones running Android version 7.0 or newer.

We look forward to your feedback as we continue to test, learn, and improve the overall experience.

Notifications Requirements

  1. Android devices version 7.0 and greater with at least 1GB of RAM.
  2. Windows 10 PC running Windows builds 1803 (RS4) or newer.
  3. Not supported on devices that have Notification Access disabled by work or other policy.

Known issues

  1. Some notifications may not appear automatically. Please press refresh to see an updated list of notifications.
  2. Notification responses are not supported.

Expanding dictation support to more languages

Ever had a word that you just can’t figure out how to spell? Or like to think out loud and wanna automatically jot it all down? In addition to English (United States), we now support dictation when using English (Canada), English (UK), English (Australia), English (India), French (France), French (Canada), German (Germany), Italian (Italy), Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Mexico), Portuguese (Brazil), and Chinese (Simplified, China)

How to try it? Set focus to a text field and press WIN+H! Or you can tap the little microphone button at the top of the touch keyboard. Say what you wanna say, then press WIN+H a second time or tap the mic button to stop the dictation, or let the dictation session time out on its own.

We’d love to hear your feedback – you can report issues or make feature requests under Input & Language > Speech Input in the Feedback Hub.

Notes:

  • Speech resources will need to be downloaded for dictation to work. To check that they’re available, go to Language Settings, click on the desired language, and then click on Options. If speech resources are available but haven’t been downloaded, there should be a download button.
  • Dictation is based on the language of your active keyboard. To switch between preferred languages, press WIN + Space.

Feedback Hub version 1.1903 rolling out to Fast

Based on your feedback, with Feedback Hub version 1.1903, Insiders with Windows set to a language other than English now have the option of browsing English feedback within the Feedback Hub, as well as submitting feedback in English on the New Feedback form.

Narrator Improvements

  • There’s a new command in Narrator to give a webpage summary! (Narrator + S). Currently this command will give information about hyperlinks, landmarks and headings.Apologies, this improvement isn’t in the build yet.
  • Narrator Find is more reliable in the Chrome web browser.

General changes, improvements, and fixes for PC

  • We fixed an issue that could result in USBs and SD cards being unexpectedly assigned a different drive letter after upgrading.
  • We fixed an issue that could result in the post install setup message unexpectedly appearing while you were actively using your PC sometime after login.
  • We’ve improved the layout of the App Volume and Device Preferences page in Sound settings and tweaked the page view for better usability.
  • We’ve updated the text of the Storage Sense group policies to make them a bit more clear.
  • We fixed an issue that could result in the “Make Windows better” page appearing after login showing “please wait”, with a progress wheel, for a long period of time. We also fixed an issue that could result in this page unexpectedly appearing while you were interacting with the device sometime after login.
  • We fixed an issue that could sometimes result in Windows Hello looking for the user and immediately signing them back in right after locking the PC, rather than first prompting with “Welcome back, dismiss the lock screen to sign back in”.
  • We fixed an issue that could result in some Insiders seeing only a flat blue screen when connecting to a recent build over remote desktop.

Known Issues

  • [ADDED] When you try to restore a previous version of Windows you get an error message that you need to delete the new account “NT Service\wlpasvc” before you can continue. To do this:
    1. Run “Regedit.exe”
    2. Navigate to “HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList”
    3. Search for wlpasvc
    4. Delete the node containing wlpasvc, which is different for each user.

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18361

Hi all, Microsoft has released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18361 (19H1) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.

General changes, improvements, and fixes for PC

  • We fixed an issue preventing certain VMs from being able to install or update Windows Insider Preview builds – the VM would hang on the black screen with the Windows logo.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in some Insiders experiencing unexpected BitLocker prompts to encrypt certain drives, and then subsequently failing to encrypt.

Known issues

  • Microsoft Store app updates do not automatically install on 18356+. As a workaround, you can manually check for, and install updates via the Microsoft Store app. Open Select “…” > “Downloads and updates” > “Get updates”.
  • Launching games that use anti-cheat software may trigger a bugcheck (GSOD).
  • Creative X-Fi sound cards are not functioning properly. We are partnering with Creative to resolve this issue.
  • Some Realtek SD card readers are not functioning properly. We are investigating the issue.

REMINDER: Getting the latest Windows 10 app updates

We have locked down the inbox apps in 19H1. These simplified versions of some of the inbox apps are what will ship with 19H1 when it is released. As a result, Insiders may have noticed that some features have disappeared from these apps. This was probably most noticeable with the Photos app. Insiders can get these features back by going into the settings of an inbox app like Photos and clicking the “Join preview” button.

General changes, improvements, and fixes for PC

  • FOR GAMERS: We have addressed an issue with Game Mode that may degrade game streaming and recording quality.
  • Here’s the latest on trying out our new Windows gaming technology:
    • Still haven’t had a chance to get the game State of Decay for free (for a limited time)? We’ve added even more slots! Whether you’ve tried it in earlier builds or haven’t had the chance yet, these instructions have everything you need.
    • Installed the Insider version of State of Decay already? We’ll be trying out another update later today. To get it, launch the Store app, click […] and then “Downloads and Updates”. Once installed, you shouldn’t see any difference in the game – it’s just a test update – but please let us know if anything doesn’t work!
  • We fixed an issue that could result in the thumbnails in Alt + Tab sometimes becoming offset.
  • We fixed an issue where certain upgrade paths could result in the contents of the Recycle Bin being left under Windows.old.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in upgrades failing at 18% or 25% and rolling back for some Insiders.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in some Insider experiencing green screens with error KERNEL_SECURITY_VIOLATION.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in some apps using the Windows Installer failing to install recently.

  • Microsoft Store app updates do not automatically install on 18356+. As a workaround, you can manually check for, and install updates via the Microsoft Store app. Open Select “…” > “Downloads and updates” > “Get updates”.
  • Launching games that use anti-cheat software may trigger a bugcheck (GSOD).
  • Creative X-Fi sound cards are not functioning properly. We are partnering with Creative to resolve this issue.

  • We’re investigating an issue preventing VMware from being able to install or update Windows Insider Preview builds. Hyper-V is a viable alternative if available to you.

Known issues for Developers

  • If you install any of the recent builds from the Fast ring and switch to the Slow ring, optional content such as enabling developer mode will fail. You will have to remain in the Fast ring to add/install/enable optional content. This is because optional content will only install on builds approved for specific rings.

Windows Defender Application Guard as browser extensions in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox

To extend our container technology to other browsers and provide customers with a comprehensive solution to isolate potential browser-based attacks, we have designed and developed Windows Defender Application Guard extensions for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

How it works

The extensions for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox automatically redirect untrusted navigations to Windows Defender Application Guard for Microsoft Edge. The extension relies on a native application that we’ve built to support the communication between the browser and the device’s Application Guard settings.

When users navigate to a site, the extension checks the URL against a list of trusted sites defined by enterprise administrators. If the site is determined to be untrusted, the user is redirected to an isolated Microsoft Edge session. In the isolated Microsoft Edge session, the user can freely navigate to any site that has not been explicitly defined as trusted by their organization without any risk to the rest of system. With our upcoming dynamic switching capability, if the user tries to go to a trusted site while in an isolated Microsoft Edge session, the user is taken back to the default browser.

To configure the Application Guard extension under managed mode, enterprise administrators can follow these recommended steps:

  1. Ensure devices meet requirements.
  2. Turn on Windows Defender Application Guard.
  3. Define the network isolation settings to ensure a set of trusted sites is in place.
  4. Install the new Windows Defender Application Guard companion application from the Microsoft Store.
  5. Install the extension for Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers provided by Microsoft.
  6. Restart the devices.

Intuitive user experience

We designed the user interface to be transparent to users about Windows Defender Application Guard being installed on their devices and what it does. We want to ensure that users are fully aware that their untrusted navigations will be isolated and why.

  1. When users initially open Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox after the extension is deployed and configured properly, they will see a Windows Defender Application Guard landing page.
  2. If there are any problems with the configuration, users will get instructions for resolving any configuration errors.
  3. Users can initiate an Application Guard session without entering a URL or clicking on a link by clicking the extension icon on the menu bar of the browser.

Where to get it

The Windows Defender Application Guard extension for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox is rolling out to Windows Insiders today and will be generally available very soon. This is available for users on Win 10 Enterprise and Pro SKUs on 1803 or later.

As a result, Insiders may have noticed that some features have disappeared from these apps. This was probably most noticeable with the Photos app. Insiders can get these features back by going into the settings of an inbox app like Photos and clicking the “Join preview” button.

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18356

Hi all, Microsoft has reealsed Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18356 (19H1) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring. Awesome Phone App update! easily mirror you phone to your pc! This will be a time saver when it works for more devices!

Take your phone’s screen to the big screen 

We are excited to provide an early preview into the newest feature for the Your Phone app – phone screen. You can now mirror your Android phone’s screen directly on your PC without having to dig for your phone.

The new phone screen feature gives you easy access to your phone apps on your PC. Whether scheduling a ride to the airport or checking your social updates, do it with ease from the comfort of your PC without having to take your phone out of your bag or go back and forth between devices. Go ahead, give your thumbs a break, and get things done faster with your keyboard and mouse.

This feature will gradually roll out to Insiders on 19H1 builds. It may take a few days for this feature to show up inside the Your Phone app (version 1.0.20701.0 and above).

You can use the Your Phone app on any Windows 10 PC running Windows builds 1803 (RS4) or newer and any Android phone running Android version 7.0 or newer. But the new phone screen feature is initially only compatible with a limited set of devices. Surface Go will be the first device in the Surface lineup to preview this feature. We will continue to expand the list of devices over time for both the PC and phone.

Phone screen requirements:

  • Select Android phones* running Android 7.0 or greater (*Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+/S9/S9+).
  • Windows 10 PC with a Bluetooth radio that supports low energy peripheral role. How to check if your PC supports this.
  • Latest 19H1 preview build (18335+ recommended).
  • Android phone must be on, within Bluetooth range of the PC, and connected to the same network as the PC.

Known issues:

  • Touch input doesn’t work yet
  • Always on display will not be shown on the phone screen displayed on the PC
  • Blue light preferences will not be applied on the phone screen displayed on the PC
  • Audio will play out of the phone speakers, not the PC
  • Double clicking may bring down notification center
  • Some games and apps do not support mouse interactions (e.g. Pokémon Go, Merge Dragons, Feedly)
  • If you turn on the setting to hide soft keyboard when a physical keyboard is present your soft keyboard will disappear whenever you’re within Bluetooth range of your PC regardless of the state of the Your Phone app or phone screen session

General changes, improvements, and fixes for PC

  • We fixed a Microsoft Edge crash encountered when interacting with combo boxes in PDF forms.
  • We fixed an issue that could result in night light being on after an upgrade, even though all the settings showed that night light should be off.
  • We fixed an issue where using the slider to adjust the night light strength could result in night light getting stuck on.
  • We fixed an issue where night light was skipping the fade transition when it was turned off (manually or scheduled).
  • We fixed an issue resulting in increased battery drain while the screen was on in recent builds.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in the “…” menu contents being clipped for certain apps like Voice Recorder and Alarms and Clock when the app was full screen.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in some Insiders experiencing bugcheck green screens citing a KERNEL_SECURITY_VIOLATION error.
